Suede Nights is a celebration of ancestry, courage and the extraordinary journeys that brought distant worlds together, shaping the generations who would follow.

My Scandinavian heritage has always held a special place in my heart. It connects me to the remarkable seafarers of the Viking Age, whose courage and curiosity carried them beyond the familiar shores of Northern Europe.

Across vast and unpredictable seas, they navigated towards distant lands, establishing trade routes that connected communities, cultures and civilisations.

Their ships carried more than precious cargo.

They transported amber, furs, timber and finely crafted goods, returning with silver, silks, spices and treasures from distant markets. But alongside these riches travelled something far more enduring: knowledge, traditions, languages and human connections.

Trade became one of the great meeting places of humanity.

And somewhere within this extraordinary history, the Scandinavian and Celtic worlds met.

The Norse voyages brought Scandinavian peoples into the lands of the Celts, particularly Ireland and Scotland, where encounters through trade, settlement and relationships helped create communities whose descendants would carry the heritage of both cultures.

It is this part of history that holds the deepest personal meaning for me.

My Viking ancestors met my Celtic ancestors, and through the union of these two worlds, generations later, here I am.

I am a daughter of histories that once belonged to different shores. Of people who crossed oceans, built new lives and became part of one another's stories.

Suede Nights was created to honour that inheritance.

The crisp sweetness of pear opens the fragrance, accompanied by luscious peach, bright tangerine and the refreshing softness of water coconut, capturing the freshness of northern air and the promise of distant horizons.

At its heart, seaside plumeria evokes the unfamiliar shores reached through exploration, while precious saffron intertwines with rose, freesia and jasmine, reflecting the beauty of cultures, traditions and treasured materials exchanged across ancient trade routes.
